Child Rescue Sanctuary
Operation Life runs a Child Rescue Sanctuary in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. It provides a safe home for abandoned or abused children, many of whom do not have parents. The sanctuary currently offers protection and care for over 48 children.
The Child Rescue Sanctuary is entirely dependent on Operation Life supporters who generously fund the entire cost of operating the Sanctuary.
Meet Helen — A Story of Transformation
This is Helen, proudly wearing her nursing uniform as a first-year Nursing student at Pacific Adventist University.
Helen’s journey is nothing short of miraculous. She was one of the very first children rescued from a notorious slum in 2012 and brought into the Sanctuary when she was just twelve years old. Her early life was marked by deep trauma—she witnessed her father’s murder at the tender age of five.
But look at her now! Through God’s grace and the unwavering support of our faithful donors, Helen’s life has been completely transformed. From a place of pain to a future filled with purpose and hope. Hellen’s hope is to return to her community and help those less fortunate.

Abandoned children receive fresh start in life
The child rescue sanctuary offers protection and care for healing and growth. Children receive formal education and a strong spiritual program, including involvement in a healthy church community. They also are taught to give back to others through Operation Life outreach and food programs.
